On Saturday July 17 the often-quiet side of Evergreen Park in Bremerton will transform into the fabulous festival known as Kitsap Pride. This is an annual festival, open to the public, to celebrate with Kitsap County’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and ally community. The event includes food vendors, local community organizations, a kids area and a teen space, entertainment and much more. Check out kitsappride.local/ for maps and other information.
This year we are excited to have many of our popular vendors returning, along with many new ones including Harrison Hospital and Olympic College. Don’t miss all of the over 40 vendors in the Marketplace. We are super excited that Red Star Events is giving away an iPod Touch and the Kitsap Safe Schools Network is giving away a Kindle by Amazon in their free drawings.
All of our food vendors will be by the picnic shelters and will have red market umbrellas over all the tables not already covered. Thanks to Pride Foundation’s $1,000 sponsorship we’ll enjoy the great space to eat, socialize and it’s close enough to watch the stage from the Food Court. This year Fast Franks, Burrito Boy and CJ’s Evergreen Market return along with Samudra Coffee/Bakery and Carter’s Chocolates serving their locally made ice cream! We will again have FREE WATER donated by Mountain Mist and staffed by volunteers from the Kitsap Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
Kid Valley will have a bouncy house and face painting and The Q Center (lgbtq teens) is putting together “Cirque de la Queer” with fun & games for all! Complete with popcorn and peanuts.
Stop by the Kitsap Pride Network tents, located between the stage and the vendor’s marketplace, for a 2010 T-shirt ($10) with the One World, One Heart, One Pride logo designed by Jessica Randklev. Plus, we have some from past years in the bargain bin. Take a quick survey and be entered for movie tickets, gift certificates and more!
The stage viewing area is expanded this year with plenty of room to bring your blankets, chairs and shade umbrellas. You’ll want to plan to spend the day because we have a great line up this year on the Red Star Stage sponsorship of $2,000. Check out the schedule below.
