About Us

Welcome to Kitsap Pride, where we celebrate, support, and unite the LGBTQ+ community in Kitsap County. Our journey traces back over 25 years when our first “Pride” gathering drew just 35 attendees. Since then, we’ve grown into a vibrant annual event, evolving from intimate park gatherings to a bustling festival attracting thousands.

In the early days, events were organized by West Sound Family and Gay County, often held at scenic locations like Scenic Beach State Park and John Foose’s Fox Farm in Southworth. As our community flourished, so did our ambitions. In 2005, we proudly hosted our first public Pride event at Evergreen Park in Bremerton, navigating permits and partnerships to make it happen.

The challenges of 2020 brought about innovation with our Pride-in-a-box concept, ensuring connection and celebration despite the pandemic. In 2021, with improving public health conditions, we witnessed our festival reach unprecedented heights, welcoming a record-breaking number of participants.

Today, Kitsap Pride is a testament to resilience and inclusivity, offering a dynamic experience with 100+ booths, a lively beer garden, diverse food options, and stellar entertainment featuring both local talent and renowned performers like Tacocat, Kim Archer, and Frenchie Davis.

But our impact goes beyond the festival grounds. In 2007, we established the Kitsap Pride Network, fostering collaboration among local organizations to enhance community engagement and support. Together, we continue to amplify the voices and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community, inviting all allies to join us in our mission.

Whether you’re a longtime supporter or new to the fold, there’s a place for you at Kitsap Pride. Join us in celebrating diversity, fostering acceptance, and spreading love. Get involved today and be a part of something truly special.

Kitsap Pride Network was formed in 2007 as a network of local organizations collaborating to celebrate community in Kitsap County. Networking together eases the planning and execution burden off of any one organization and allows for more community input. If you would like to get involved to support your local pride let us know.
