Dine Out. Fight AIDS.

This year the Kitsap County HIV AIDS Foundation is trying the “Dining Out for Life” fundraiser with some local restaurants.  On April, 24 if you dine at one of our partner establishments, they will donate 30% of the check to KCHAF.  There are dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Lifelong AIDS Alliance in Seattle has added Kitsap County as one if its neighborhoods and all the funds raised through local restaurants will stay here in Kitsap County.  Visit our website for the list of local restaurants.  www.kchaf.org We are hoping to add a few more in the next few days.

The Kitsap County HIV AIDS Foundation advocates for those living with HIV/AIDS by offering assistance and education.  We provide a monthly communal meal, deliver free groceries and offer financial assistance.  We are about to launch Chicken Soup Brigade, Lifelong’s food program, here in Kitsap County next month.  This will be a boost to the quantity and quality of food our clients receive.

We also operate the Q center for LGBTQ youth ages 14-19.  The center is a safe space where we provide youth with information and resources to make healthy choices.  This program, based on HIV prevention, focuses on the whole person while developing self-esteem and decision making skills to reduce harm.  The center provides recreation, art & cultural opportunities, and a monthly meal to youth.  We also stock ready-to-eat items; free for those in need.  Our education and prevention curriculum includes topics such as: Body Image, Suicide Awareness, Safe Sex, Spirituality, Leadership and Self-Advocacy.
